Be still my heart. What an honor it was to come into Sarah and Stephen's newborn baby bubble when sweet little J was just one week old. Sarah is very near and dear to us here on Summer Street, so when she and Stephen announced they would be welcoming a little boy into their lives in June, we were over the moon for them. These two are about the best parents a baby could get - so we are also thrilled that little J got so lucky. Sarah, you are just a natural. Your love for your family radiates from every fiber in you. And Stephen? You are going to make such a strong and gentle Dad. We can already see little J toddling around throwing a ball to you. Congratulations on your new arrival! We love all three of you to pieces!
The M*L Family
We won't judge if you decide to look at this session again. And again. And again. We get the warm fuzzies when we look through these photos because it's almost as if the love this family shares oozes out of each image. When Kerry and Gordon asked us to capture some family photos in their backyard, with no agenda but to capture them at this moment in time, we were all in. Kerry and Gordon are raising their two girls with grace and heart. It's clear that they are doing a fantastic job by the joy that radiates from not only their faces, but their girls who only know love. Thanks for allowing us into your lives during this time that is filled to the brim! Now excuse us while we go look at this post again.
Jenn + Jeff = Married
There's just something about a black and white wedding palate that doesn't get old. It exudes a classy timelessness and just looks so *sharp*. Jenn and Jeff are like that though. They live life to the fullest and have excellent taste. Their wedding was a perfect combination of their style and taste. Choosing things like a Sunday morning ceremony at the delicious and beautifully accented L'Andana Restaurant made for a memorable and comfortable wedding day. Chuck was on hand to capture it all and we're smitten with the photos he captured of this sweet pair. Jenn and Jeff; thank you for trusting us to capture your union! We trust you have years of happiness together and wish you the best.
Danielle + Jason = Married
We've heard that nearly 75% of all wedding photographers don't make it past three years in the business. This could be attributed to a few things - high pressured working conditions and the sheer volume of the amount of work involved probably topping the list. We're in our fifth year of shooting weddings and things are not slowing down anytime soon. I'm convinced this is because our number one criteria for taking on new clients is that these couples are genuinely in love with their future spouse and are getting married for all the right reasons. People who understand that their wedding day is just one (beautiful) day, but their marriage is the prize at the end of a great party. Danielle and Jason are such people. Chuck was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding day (isn't he just the best?) but even through all our wedding planning communications it was clear that Danielle and Jason are made for one another. Even looking at the love radiating through these photos leaves shivers down our spine. We were honored to have the chance to tell their story and wish them years of happiness together. Congratulations Danielle and Jason!
Amanda + Loftin = Married
Ahhh Maine. For those of you who have visited or live there you know that Maine is a special place. Something about the stunning rocky shore lines, thriving community of artists and local fishermen and did we mention the lobster? Matt and I have been long time fans of all things Maine, so it's always a treat to get to work there. Amanda and Loftin share our sentiment because despite having family all across the eastern seaboard, they decided to get married at a family residence on Deer Isle and make their wedding a destination for all their guests. And what a wedding they had! If the photos aren't evidence enough of how special these two are, you can go ahead and take our word for it. Their heart felt and personalized wedding day was a joy to share in. Thank you for allowing us to capture your wedding, Amanda and Loftin. We wish you years of happiness!
Trish + Cory = Engaged
Oh how we have big hearts for these two! It's not often that we get to photograph friends and family, but when we do it proves to combine parts of our lives that yield in some pretty great photos (if we're allowed to say that....). Cory is Kendra's cousin, so they've known each other since infancy. Trish has also been in Kendra's life for a long time as their parents were friends and they played together as kids. So Cory and Trish grew up in the same town, but it wasn't until after high school that they re connected as more than just friends. They compliment each other in so many ways, and Trish has fit into Cory's family (and extended family) as if she's always been a part of us. We were thrilled when they asked us to capture this exiting time as they plan for their wedding next May. It's surely going to be a day filled with the best kind of happiness. These two deserve it. Congratulations you love birds! We love you!
Betsy + Viktor = Married
Betsy and Viktor were married on the last day of spring on the most perfect June day. Their wedding was the epitome of all things lovely, which just confirms our theory that weddings are a direct reflection of the couple in honor. Betsy and Viktor are genuine, loving and honest folks. We feel very lucky to call them our clients. The Lyman Estate continues to be one of our favorite Boston venues with its grand stature and lush grounds, all the while retaining a certain humbleness that yields the best kind of hospitality. Chuck was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding day and we think all the elements made for such a great set of photos for them to cherish. Congratulations Betsy and Viktor, we wish you all the happiness in the world!
Brooke + Eric = Married
This wedding is special to me for a few reasons. First off, it's the first wedding I've photographed in my hometown of Yankton, South Dakota. When the beautiful bride, Brooke, asked me on her wedding day if I'd ever photographed a wedding in Yankton, I had to think for a moment but realized that no, I hadn't ever shot there before. After five years of doing this full time it was definitely time to break that ice - and Brooke, Eric and their crew certainly did! These two wanted a love filled celebration that allowed their nearest and dearest 400 guests to kick off their marriage with a HECK of a party. One that spanned two states, in fact. You see, Brooke grew up in Yankton and Eric grew up right across the river in Crofton, Nebraska. They got ready in one of the oldest buildings in town - the Dakota Territorial Capital building (once upon a time Yankton was the capital of SD) which sits right on the river and has a beautiful park as its yard which made for some lovely photos before the ceremony. They said 'I do' at Brooke's childhood church and after the ceremony the entire wedding party took a booze cruise around Yankton which was buzzing with energy and music. It was literally a party on wheels. Of course I had to drag them into a corn field for a big wedding party photo after which the celebration continued into Nebraska where they joined their guests at the Crofton Auditorium for the reception. It was a fun-filled day that we were happy to get to share in! Congratulations Brooke and Eric! Thanks for having us!
Ryann + Ted = Married
There are some weddings that we leave with more energy than when we started. Ryann and Ted's big day was definitely one of them. These two are full of life, love and laughter - and anyone who knows them knows this is not a cliche for this pair. Working in new environments always makes us excited to be doing what we're doing, so when Ryann gave us her vision with some of Chicago's prettiest landmarks as spots she wanted incorporated into her wedding photos we were all in. From start to finish Ryann and Ted were emotionally present and enjoying their day which makes the whole experience more relaxed and fun. We had a blast photographing this one and hope you can see that in their wedding story. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
Emily + Rob = Married
Emily and Rob are just the best. Smart, compassionate and full of class - these two are as good as it gets. They threw an elegantly laid-back wedding for their nearest and dearest to celebrate their first day as husband and wife. The Endicott Estate serves as a stunning backdrop for any event, but we felt like it was effortlessly suited for this wedding, fitting in somewhere between F Scott Fizgerald's, The Great Gatsby and a Jane Austen novel. (Maybe it was the slew of handsome men in tuxes or Emily's graceful bridal style that did us in?) It also says a lot about a couple when the groom asks his father to be his best man. We love everything these two are about, and feel so fortunate to have gotten the opportunity to document their wedding day. Emily and Rob, we wish you years of happiness together!
