Betsy + Viktor = Married

Betsy and Viktor were married on the last day of spring on the most perfect June day. Their wedding was the epitome of all things lovely, which just confirms our theory that weddings are a direct reflection of the couple in honor. Betsy and Viktor are genuine, loving and honest folks. We feel very lucky to call them our clients. The Lyman Estate continues to be one of our favorite Boston venues with its grand stature and lush grounds, all the while retaining a certain humbleness that yields the best kind of hospitality.  Chuck was fortunate enough to photograph their wedding day and we think all the elements made for such a great set of photos for them to cherish. Congratulations Betsy and Viktor, we wish you all the happiness in the world!

Joelle + Alan = Married

What do you get when you combine a romance-novel worthy garden, a bride and groom perfectly matched for one another and a hopping celebration filled with laughter and hugs? Joelle and Alan's wedding. That's what. Chuck blew it out of the water again when he photographed Joelle and Alan's big day at the Plimoth Plantation earlier this month and we're head over heels for the results. Some of our favorite parts of their photos are the sun-kissed couple portraits they shared as newlyweds and the touching ceremony they shared in the sunken garden. It's been such a pleasure working with you, Joelle and Alan. We know you'll share years of happiness together. Congratulations!

Melissa + Dan = Married

We first started talking with Melissa and Dan about their Artist for Humanity Building wedding over a year ago. From the start we were so excited about their vision for a laid-back wedding day in the city with personal touches with an artistic flair. Part of this business is meeting lots of really awesome couples who end up going a different direction than Summer Street for their photography, so when Melissa and Dan decided to go a different direction with their photography we were bummed not to get to work with them but of course understood. Fast forward to the week of their wedding and we get a call from Melissa, Dan and their existing photographer explaining that there were some extenuating circumstances and we would be taking over their contract. Fortunately Chuck was open and able to step up to the call with our good friend George and the two of them shot the wedding together and rocked the house. I mean truly, would you look at these two and the amazing bash they planned for their nearest and dearest? Melissa and Dan clearly share a special connection and we were so honored to get to capture their wedding story. Congratulations you two! We wish you many happy years of love, laughter and a spontaneous dance parties with 80s sunglasses. :)

Sarah + Ben = Married

Oh this wedding was just the sweetest thing. Sarah and Ben were married on a sunny day in November at the Boston Temple where a sea of loving family and friends waited for them as they exited the temple as husband and wife. We couldn't stop smiling as we photographed their joyful exit into the world as a married couple and loved watching them beam with excitement. After some photos at the Temple, we stole them away to photograph their newlywed glow on the grounds of their reception at the Whittemore Robbins House in Arlington. The house is stunning as-is, but also sits right beside the Arlington Town Hall which has a beautiful garden so we were sure to grab some photos of them there, both together and apart. Doesn't Sarah have the most lovely bridal glow? I'm loving the series of her in the gardens after the ceremony where the content look on her face says it all. So pretty. Later, the celebration continued at the Robbins House with more family and friends who came to celebrate their union with cheesecake and lots of hugs. Ben and Sarah remained on cloud nine as the evening progressed and shared a quiet moment at the end of the reception in the grand ballroom with a sweet first dance. They had a beautiful day that made me feel like I was in a historical romance novel (those of you who know me know how much I must have enjoyed that). Congratulations Sarah and Ben! We wish you all the happiness in the world.

Caitlin + Dave = Married

Caitlin and Dave make me smile. They are just so good together. I love when couples infuse their personalities and tastes into their wedding day, and Caitlin and Dave did such a great job at that. Caitlin is detail oriented, organized and utterly feminine. Dave works for a beer distributing company so he's clearly great with people and understands the importance of relationship and taking time to enjoy life. It was a natural fit for them to choose The Barn at Gibbet Hill as their wedding backdrop since the venue boasts pastoral views, a glamorous barn and great food. We started the day with them getting ready in their respective rooms at a nearby hotel where Caitlin was getting the final touches on her makeup and hair. Her bridesmaids were so supportive and sweet as she stepped out of the room fully dressed in her wedding gown, just glowing with excitement (don't you love their faces in the photo up there?). Next up we drove to the sweetest little New England stone church you've ever seen for their Catholic ceremony. They did a quick first look before the ceremony to ease the nerves and we grabbed a few shots of them in their wedding day glow. The ceremony was incredibly happy and felt like a dream as birds literally chirped and sang through the entire thing. After they said 'I do' it was off to Gibbet Hill where we enjoyed shooting their couple portraits and some cocktail hour candid moments. The rest of the evening was relaxed and warm with sweet words from their nearest and dearest and a fun dance that even the Priest who married them enjoyed. Such a happy day and great representation of their new life together. Caitlin and Dave, we've loved working with you - Congratulations!

Meaghan + Joe = Married

Here's what I love about Meaghan and Joe: they are both extremely talented and accomplished, and yet they don't take themselves too seriously. They are the type of people that would hug you upon first introduction and make you feel right at home in their presence. They are a perfect match. We had been looking forward to shooting their wedding at the Willowdale Estate all year and when the day arrived it more than exceeded our expectations. The weather was the most perfect slice of September I'd ever experienced (you know, warm in the sun with a crisp breeze) and the wedding day timeline was easy and seamless - resulting in a stress-free and enjoyable afternoon and evening. We started the day with Meagan getting ready at the Estate and with a wedding party involving eight ladies and the most picture perfect Arts and Crafts style bathtub in her bridal suite, we just *had* to take a photo with all of them piled in! After Meaghan was fully ready she set off to see Joe for the first time during their first look which was super sweet. We took some portraits of them afterward on the luscious grounds of the Estate and then prepped for the ceremony which was filled with wildflowers and bumblebees. After the kiss, it was time for a few sunset portraits and then time to party! We enjoyed listening to the heartfelt toasts and watching the endearing first dances followed by a rocking live band that kept the party going. Meaghan and Joe, you two are the greatest. Enjoy Italy and be sure to eat some pasta in Tuscany for us!

Leandra + James = Married

When we met with Leandra and James last fall as they were planning their red and black March wedding, we loved hearing their plans to create an event that captured their personalities. James plays the lead guitar in a Rockabilly Band and Leandra's favorite color is red, to which James added that it took a lot of encouragement to Leandra not to paint their entire house crimson. Even further than their mutual love of good music and bold colors, it was clear to us that Leandra and James belonged together. They finished each other's sentences and looked at one another as though their hearts were on their sleeve. When we arrived to photograph the ladies getting ready at the hotel, the energy was buzzing and all of Leandra's sisters and nieces were putting the finishing touches on their ruby lips. There were lots of bodies in the small hotel room but Leandra was as cool as a cucumber. We later made our way over to Bittersweet Farms where the barn-like reception hall had been turned into an fun and funky party filled with little details like Mad Limbs on the tables and an incredible vampire bride and groom cake topper that Leandra made (Leandra is a girl after my own heart as she DIY'd nearly EVERYTHING at her wedding). Also waiting at the venue was a sweet and slightly nervous James. Once Leandra walked down the aisle the world seemed to melt away and everyone was enraptured by Leandra and James' sweet demeanor with one another.

The party got off to an energetic start after they walked down the aisle as husband and wife, and we took advantage of the setting sun for family photos and portraits of the newlyweds around the grounds of Bittersweet Farms (we can't pick a favorite photo of the two of them from their portraits!) Later on they cut their cake (which a friend made for them) and boogied down to music from The Memphis Rockabilly Band, which definitely one of the coolest wedding bands we've ever seen!

Bianca + Mike = Married

Bianca and Mike were married on a beautiful September afternoon at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox church. The church was a magnificent space, and one of our favorite parts of their ceremony was when the Priest led them around the alter three (representing the trinity) times, signifying their first steps as a married couple. We also learned that Greeks view kissing as an essential part of greeting or congratulating each other. You can imagine my delight when almost each wedding guest got a kiss after the ceremony. Such happiness! After a fun filled Hummer-limo ride back to the reception we grabbed a few portraits, taking advantage of being in east Boston and seeing the full city skyline.  We have to take a moment to thank Kristen from Kristen Schueler Photography for adding her expert eye to their day!

Carolyn + Sean = Wedding

Carolyn and Sean were married on a glorious summer day in Bermuda. Yes, you heard that right. In Bermuda. We were humbled when they asked us to be a part of it, especially since destination wedding couples have umpteen million choices for wedding photographers. When we first met them, we were immediately drawn to their laid back personalities and love for one another as they told us about their plans for a relaxing wedding weekend in Bermuda for their closest family and friends. As we spent the weekend with them during the wedding, we had the honor of getting to know them even better, and following Sean's adorable twin daughters around like the paparazzi (we couldn't help it - they are just too sweet!). They were married at Tuckers Point - which is a GORGEOUS resort on the south east portion of the Island. After a relaxing day at the Spa with her ladies, and a sun showered round of golf with the guys, Carolyn and Sean began getting ready for their ceremony. We couldn't hold back our smiles when Sean's face beamed with love for Carolyn during the ceremony, and giggled while the twins stole the show at several points of the evening. We are so happy for you two, and we wish you all the best!!
