New England Wedding Photography

Kristen + Tim = Married

If there is something most all our clients have in common, it's that they don't take themselves too seriously, which is impressive given that they are equally talented and kind. Kristen and Tim certainly fit this bill, in addition to having such a welcoming presence about them. As you can likely tell from their wedding, these two are so great together and know how to throw a lively party. Chuck ventured up to Portsmouth, New Hampshire where the couple got ready for the day and then bared the chilly temps and mountains of snow for some portraits outside (Kristen knows how to rock a sequined shrug, doesn't she?). They ventured over to The Rivermill at Dover Landing for their ceremony and reception, where their nearest and dearest joined together to toast to the newlyweds. Another job well done by Chuck, and a fantastic start to a beautiful marriage. All in all a good days work. Congratulations Kristen and Tim!

Erica + Tim = Married

Erica and Tim's wedding was an event long in the making. They came to us early in their engagement, so we've had the privilege of getting to know these two quite well leading up to the wedding. It's always fun to follow along in an engagement like theirs, because we become confidants during the vendor hunt and planning process. Erica and Tim had The Towers in Narragansett all lined up for their reception, and were hoping to have the ceremony outside on the town green nearby. When that door closed during the process, they turned to a nearby Bed and Breakfast which turned out way better than they could have imagined. Their families occupied the B&B for the week and set up camp Erica and Tim. Erica and her maids got ready at the Inn while Tim and his guys hung out at his family's house nearby. They waited to see one another until the ceremony which made emotions run high for everyone involved. Tim's experience in the military typically leaves him strong and steadfast, but even he couldn't resist a tear as Erica made her way down the aisle. The celebration continued over at The Towers after the ceremony where their friends and families showered them with love in the form of witty toasts and even a song sung by Erica's father ("My Girl", for those of you who want to awwww with us). Overall, it was a smashing success filled with lots of love. What more can one ask for? Congratulations to the newlyweds!

Becca + Dan = Married

In the client department, we feel like we are winning. Nothing makes this job more fun than the people we get to work with. It's truly our joy to capture our couple's love stories, and Becca and Dan's Hubbell Homestead Wedding in Vermont is no exception. Chuck has been busy on Summer Street this fall, and he was privileged to capture Becca and Dan's wedding on a perfect September day. Matt and I enjoyed shooting at Hubbell in the past, so it's always fun to see how Chuck will capture the same space. Becca and Dan's wedding did not disappoint, where some of our favorite highlights included family contributions such as the hand made chuppah that Dan's family lovingly crafted with vines over a period of months. Their families also crafted the woodland centerpieces, so there was some serious talent running through their veins. We're obsessed with their sun drenched portraits, and think their newlywed glow is just about as beautiful as Chuck's handiwork behind the camera. Becca and Dan, we are so happy for you guys and know you deserve all the joy in the world. Congratulations!

Jacqueline + Matt = Married

Jacqueline and Matt were married on a beautiful September day. The kind that make tourists flock to visiting autumn in New England. It's no secret that Jacqueline and Matt are two of the most gracious, warm and charismatic souls out there, so having the stage set for a perfect wedding day was easy. Our talented friend Jean joined Summer Street for the day, so while Jean and Matt captured some getting ready photos, Matt (the groom) waited patiently to see his exquisite bride for the first time. After a darling first look and a few portraits of the two of them together, their wedding entourage joined them for some photos on the crest of Quincy where the entire skyline of Boston was visible. Despite the middle of the afternoon timeline, the light for their photos before the ceremony was divine, wasn't it? Their ceremony brought tears to everyone's eyes and the rest of the evening was a laid-back, classy time for all involved. Jacqueline and Matt, we are so happy for you and wish you nothing but the best in your new adventure. Congratulations!

Kimberly + Marty = Married

Once upon a time there was a pretty girl named Kimberly who worked at a pizza joint. There was a charming boy named Marty who happened to love pizza and frequented this fine establishment, but unbeknownst to Kimberly, Marty was there for more than pizza. Marty's frequent visits to Family Pizzeria ended up not only gaining him some delicious slices of pizza, but a wife. Clearly their relationship moved beyond their sweet beginnings and into something more real and comfortable. Kimberly and Marty tied the knot on a lovely spring day in Western Mass late in May and started the next exciting chapter in their lives together. Their wedding day was filled with those that mattered most to them, along with some beautifully rustic accent pieces (cowboy boots? twinkle lights and a barn? check!) and a whole lot of laughter. We were thrilled to be there capturing their fun day and are loving the photo results. Special thanks to our talented second shooter Ashley for joining Summer Street for the day. Congratulations Kim and Marty! We are so happy for you both and wish you many more years of joy!

Erica + Alex = Married

You guys. These two are seriously the sweetest ever. Erica and Alex both have hearts of gold and are the types of people who radiate happiness. Just being around them makes you smile, so you can imagine the overwhelming love and joy that poured out of them on their wedding day. Shooting their wedding left a perma-smile on our faces and a heart of gratitude to get to photograph such exceptional love stories as our living. The day started with Erica getting pretty with her ladies and Alex hanging with his guys. The excitement and anticipation was buzzing when we arrived and lasted throughout the evening. They shared an intimate first look under the largest tree in Connecticut (it's over 24 feet in diamater!) which made for some beautiful portraits and then ventured over to a nearby pedestrian bridge of flowers to meet up with their bridal party and family for more portraits. The weather couldn't have been more perfect as they exchanged vows in a vineyard on site of their wedding property, Rosedale Farm and Vineyards. After the kiss, their guests ventured over to a nearby meadow for lawn games, the Summer Street Photobooth and some amazing food (and sweets) in the breezy and whimsically styled tent. Their guests spoiled them with heartfelt toasts and well wishes and they danced the night away under the stars. It was truly a perfect day for such a deserving couple that we were so happy to have the chance of photographing. Congratulations you two! We wish you many years of happiness!

Katie + Matt = Married

Even though both of them grew up in Massachusetts, it took moving all the way across the country to California to meet and fall in love. With a common love of adventure sports, the outdoors and spending time with their dog, Katie and Matt were made for one another. Their wedding was a true celebration of two lives and families coming together in support of their commitment and love for each other. There was such joy and tenderness in the way they interacted with each other throughout the entire day. We started with getting ready photos of each of them and although they were cool and collected on the outside, Katie admitted to being "more than a little nervous" with the excitement and anticipation bubbling up inside. After their adorable first look and some couple portraits in a nearby state park, their closest friends joined them for bridal party photos before the ceremony. We made our way over to the meticulously gardened Independence Harbor for their ceremony which left few people with dry eyes as everyone witnessed their grinning, tear streaked happy faces say 'I do'. The celebrations continued into the evening with lots of hugs and some serious dance moves thrown down on the dance floor while Katie and Matt soaked up the happiness from those around them. The Summer Street Photobooth was also hopping all night with wedding guests who showed us exactly how to rock a feather boa. We had a blast shooting this wedding and know that Katie and Matt will share many happy years together. Congratulations you two!!

Kristen + Matthew = Married

This wedding makes us so happy. We often get asked what our number one piece of wedding planning advice would be, and time after time, we always say that if you as a couple can find ways to incorporate yourselves, your background and your future into your wedding day that it will be a truly unique, enjoyable and memorable event for yourselves and your guests. Kristen and Matthew nailed this one on the head. We LOVED photographing their big day and watching them celebrate their commitment with their nearest and dearest. The day started off with an intimate ceremony on the beach in their neighborhood and was followed by a relaxing and beautiful lunch at the Trafford Restaurant in Warren, RI. The space was so airy and calm, so with the addition of a nice mix of loving family and friends (and some incredible food) the atmosphere was just perfect. After the lunch reception more family and friends joined them at their house for a backyard gathering celebrating the newlyweds. Kristen had arranged a sweet surprise for her Matthew when Rhode Island's famous Del's Lemonade truck made an appearance during the reception. Kids and adults alike enjoyed iced lemonade with their lawn games and conversation. It was a truly enjoyable day for all that we were honored to get to capture. Kristen and Matthew, you both have been such a pleasure to work with. We wish you all the joy and happiness in the world. Congratulations!

Cara + Jesse = Married

American writer Ambrose Bierce once wrote, "Patience is a minor form of despair that is disguised as a virtue." I really can't think of a better way to start Cara and Jesse's weddings story than that. The story really begins back in March when they originally had planned to wed at the beautiful Willowdale Estate. Due to unforeseen circumstances that were outside anyones control on the morning of their original wedding day back in March, the wedding was forced to be rescheduled for a different date. It was a huge disappointment for everyone, but deep down I knew that when their wedding day *did* finally happen, that it was going to be an amazing day worth the wait. Unfortunately for Matt and I who were originally slated to shoot their wedding, the rescheduled date fell on a day that we already had another event scheduled. As fate would have it, our new Associate Photographer Chuck was available, along with our good friend and super talented Boston Photographer, Li from Fat Orange Cat Studio. Li and Chuck joined forces to capture Cara and Jesse's wedding in a way that was truly seamless and amazing (if the above evidence wasn't proof enough!) and we simply can't get enough of the results. Just like when Chuck works with us on a regular basis, we collected the images straight out of their cameras and got to work editing the photos after the wedding and spent many hours that followed exactly as we do with weddings that we shoot ourselves. We relive the moments (or get to see them for the first time in this case) and laugh, sniffle (you think I'm joking) and smile our way through working on the images. After working on Cara and Jesse's images and seeing the absolutely perfect wedding day that they had, I have to believe that it really was all meant to be this way. Congratulations Cara and Jesse, and a huge thank you to Chuck and Li for joining Summer Street to make this wedding incredible!
