Erika + Jeffrey = Married

Erika and Jeffrey had us at hello. From the very beginning we loved their vision for a beautiful, rustic wedding with an emphasis on having a great time for everyone involved. The Smith Barn at Brooksby Farm in Peabody was the perfect backdrop for said vision that went off with out a hitch. We're becoming huge fans of what we're calling 'one-stop-shop' wedding venues that offer so many diverse and beautiful backdrops for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception (as well as the photos of course) but no one has to mess with transportation during the wedding day. It makes the entire event run smoothly and ultimately more enjoyable for everyone. You can imagine our delight with a property as rich in history and beauty as Brooksby Farm - especially when we have two adorably in-love people who are just as attractive to work with as they are to photograph. In fact, we've got a petition out with their families to get these two moved back out to the East Coast so we can hang out with them more. We loved having the honor of capturing Erika and Jeff's wedding, and know these two will have many years of happiness as they celebrate life together. Be sure to check out all of their wedding photos here. Congratulations Erika and Jeff!!

Martyna + David = Engaged

It's official. Engagement Sessions on the beach may be our favorite type of session this summer. There is something about the easy, care free vibe of two sweet people in love (and their dog!) strolling by the water enjoying themselves that makes the perfect recipe for great photos. College sweethearts Martyna and David (and their dog Rose) are no exception. We're loving these photos and were honored to capture their Engagement on Nantasket Beach before they tie the knot in Poland (Martyna's homeland) next summer. Congratulations you guys! We wish you many years of love, laughter and long strolls on the beach.

Shannon + Mike = Married

Oh how we adore these two. Shannon and Mike were wed on the most perfect June day that was filled with joy, happiness and and outpouring of love from their friends and family who joined together to witness their long awaited union. Believe it or not, they met while studying abroad in Italy, but grew up just miles from one another (on a different note, they are currently honeymooning *in* Italy and we couldn't be more jealous...). It became quickly obvious to one another that they were meant to be, and they continued their relationship state side which eventually led us to the glorious day you see above. Humble, hard working and as genuinely kind as two people can be - Shannon and Mike deserve one another. It's been such a joy working with them and we couldn't be more happy for their future together. Congratulations you two! We wish you many years of wedded bliss.

Patricia + Alix = Married

It's always a special treat when the impending forecast says rain for ten days before a wedding day, only to be welcomed by the clouds rolling back to reveal a calm sunny sky on the morning of the wedding. All of that was really just a cherry on top of a really sweet sundae, however, because nothing could have dampened Patricia and Alix's spirits on their wedding day. When we arrived to capture getting ready photos of the two of them, they were each surrounded by their large loving bridal parties who were busy getting ready themselves - and both Patricia and Alix were like the calm eye of the storm....joyful, grounded and so ready to become husband and wife. They saw one another for the first time as Patricia walked down the aisle, and Alix's grin was so large it was as through his face was going to split in half. After their heartfelt vows and an amazing musical performance by a few of their friends - they sealed their ceremony with a kiss and danced down the aisle as husband and wife. The celebration continued at the Lake View Pavillon where their guests showered them with hugs, heartfelt toasts and a packed dance floor. Patricia and Alix, it's been a true joy working with the two of you. We wish you so many years of happiness together and know your future together can bring nothing but sunny skies. Congratulations!

Connie + Tim = Engaged

Connie and Tim are slated to be wed next January in Hong Kong, and while we won't get the opportunity to fly across the world to photograph them, we were able to shoot a fun engagement session in Cambridge where Tim is working on a short term stint. Connie flew down from Canada to spend some time with him before she moves to Hong Kong until their wedding - so its always sweet to photograph a copule who is in the middle of a long distance relationship because they just can't get enough of one another. Clearly these two had no problems warming up in front of the camera as we dashed raindrops in Harvard Square. We loved that they had matching converse sneakers for the first half of their session. If the photos aren't evidence enough, they were so sweet with one another which made our job a breeze. Congratulations on your Engagement, Connie and Tim, and we wish you nothing but the best as you finalize all your wedding plans for January!

Ingrid + Kristofor = Married

Feel free to ignore me down here and just go ahead and re-load this blog post and look at the photos again. It's okay, I'll wait. Okay, you back? You still breathing? Because Iceland was literally breath taking. Many folks who don't know Ingrid and Kris but knew that we were headed to Iceland to shoot a wedding always asked us two things: 1) Are they Icelandic? and 2) Why Iceland? To clear up those two things first; Ingrid and Kris are American and they chose to have a destination wedding in Iceland for many reasons, but the primary reason being the absolutely stunning landscape and beauty of the place. We knew going into the wedding that it was going to be an amazing experience, but we really had no idea how austerely beautiful the weekend would be. It was other-worldly in many ways. As we drove three hours north from the airport in Keflavik we were quickly greeted by stunning volcano-mountains and lava rock plains. Civilization seemed to lull to a place of prehistoric proportions, and we had to laugh when we entered a stretch in the drive where the only radio station that came in clearly was an abstract fog horn musical composition. So very cool and Scandinavian.

As if the landscapes weren't enough to get us excited; when we finally pulled into Ingrid and Kris' wedding location, Hotel Budir, we were greeted by a cozy hotel on the shores of the Atlantic. In many ways it was in the middle of no where - but it felt very idyllic and community-like with roaming dogs and wedding guests arriving with hugs and excitement for the weekend to come. Ingrid and Kris welcomed their guests with a twilight dinner (the sun doesn't really go down until 11:00pm or so, and even then it doesn't get truly dark) that we were able to enjoy with the guests. On the morning of the wedding Matt and I ventured out to see some scenic views (and take photos of course) while the wedding party started to ready themselves for the big day. When we arrived to photograph Ingrid and Kris getting ready for the ceremony, excitement was high and laughter was plentiful. Despite the drizzly weather conditions we managed to take some portraits of them outside amongst the stunning landscapes. We were in photo heaven! The ceremony was held in the cutest little chapel up the road from the hotel which ended with the sweetest rendition of 'My Favorite Things' from The Sound of Music on the small church organ. The celebration continued back at the hotel with some amazing food, heartfelt toasts, an adorable first dance and all ages of guests rocking out the dance floor. We had to take the opportunity to grab a few more couple portraits at sunset (aka, 10:45pm) and were so glad we did since the rain had stopped by then and we were able to see more of the snow capped mountains. Ingrid and Kris, we are so grateful for the opportunity to work with you and capture such a special time in your lives. Til Hamingju!!!

Erin + Andrew = Engaged

We knew when we arrived to photograph Erin and Andrew and were greeted by a grinning Erin with a slew of colorful balloons that this was going to be an awesome shoot. We spent a casual weekend morning photographing the two of them on the beach Andrew grew up on, and had a blast chatting about their wedding plans this coming August,  hearing about their long distance relationship (he in NJ and she in RI) as they pursue their professional training and finally enjoying a delicious brunch at an adorable local townie diner (that part was fortunately or unfortunately not photographed...). As Matt and I drove home from the shoot we were yet again left with the question that constantly boggles our mind; "How did we get so lucky?" We feel so blessed to have to opportunity to tell the love stories of such incredible people like Erin and Andrew. We simply can not *wait* for their wedding this August...it's going to be an amazing day!
