Boston Wharf Engagement Session

Lindsay + Chris = Engaged

Lindsay and Chris are proof that awesome people lead to working with more awesome people. Hear us out. Over two years ago, we booked Christine and Jay's wedding for spring of 2012. Christine was a Salve Regina University alumni and Jay was a Bryant University alum. Since that time we've worked with nearly a dozen couples who have had ties back to this wedding. Whether it was another Salve or Bryant alum who ran across their (or one of their friends') photos - or a direct connection to Christine and Jay - the referrals have spiraled to amazing proportions from this one couple. Word-of-mouth referrals are always our favorite way to meet and photograph couples because it's like when one of your closest friends introduces you a different friend of theirs who you haven't met yet. Everyone ends up jiving and getting along well. This has totally been the case with our Salve and Bryant connection couples. Every. Single. Couple. has been kind-hearted, gracious and genuine. It makes us feel like the luckiest photographers around because at the end of the day we get to work with great people with whom we have a great connection. Lindsay and Chris are a perfect example of this and we love the natural chemistry they share (as well as their stunning good looks!) and can't wait to photograph their wedding next fall on the cape. It's bound to be an amazing day filled with love, laughter and lots of familiar faces.

Krystal + Braylon = Engaged

If that last image doesn't tell you just how much fun Krystal and Braylon are, I'm not sure what will. We met these two by Boston's waterfront on a quiet Sunday morning to capture this exciting time in their lives as they prepare for their wedding in the south next year. We loved their energy and zest for life and their love for one another. I'm especially a fan of the pop of color Krystal decided to wear to stand against Boston's classic waterfront and brick backdrop, but I have a feeling that these two could have worn potato sacks and still looked amazing! Congratulations Krystal and Braylon! You make our work look awesome.

Aime + Ralph = Engaged

There are two things that need to be said at the bottom of this post. 1. Chuck is an awesome photographer. 2. Aime and Ralph are ROCKING the lens in this session. We actually had to double check that they were not professional models, because every.single.image. that was taken of them looked like it belonged on the cover of a magazine. The best part is that beyond just *looking* good - these two were some of the kindest, most gracious people. It comes as no surprise that they are Texans (all Texans are just so friendly, aren't they?) and wanted a photo session while they were on vacation in Boston earlier this summer. We love the soft early morning light highlighting the nooks and crannies of the waterfront area, but it might just be that we could have photographed them in front of a garbage can and they still would have stolen the show. Aime and Ralph, thank you for sharing such a special time in your lives with us. We hope you enjoy the remainder of your Engagement and start of a beautiful marriage!

Colleen + Nick = Engaged

Okay guys, we have a confession. We are not very cool. I mean it. We spend our spare time gardening, geeking out over how various types of flour and butter combinations affects baked goods and we rarely go to bed past 11:00. Colleen and Nick though. They are cool. Hip, in fact. So much so that we hope that even by shooting their engagement session and wedding this August that some of their awesomeness will rub off on us. They came up from NYC (see? cool) to spend a little time getting acquainted with being in front of the camera on Boston's waterfront. We had to take advantage of the perfectly grimy alley ways to grab some fun shots of them looking awesome (they didn't even have to try) and threw in a few shots by the water and skyline for good measure. Of course their time spent with us only reinforced their coolness, but what we really loved watching was their genuine spirits and big hearts. We left their session feeling pretty much ready to move in next door and start planning casual dinner parties with bruschetta and wine. We can't wait for their wedding later this summer which will no doubt be filled with amazing details (did I mention she  works for Real Simple?) and lots of love.

Kristen + Jay = Engaged

One of the first things we noticed about Kristen and Jay was the way they listened to one another. When one of them is talking, the other is in complete rapture of what they are saying. The more we got to know them, we realized that it was a classic Southern Boy meets East Coast Girl love story. Jay is a true Southern Gentleman. He opens doors for others, speaks with care and is always smiling. Kristen is a charming East Coast Girl. She's witty and smart and knows how to make Jay laugh. They are perfect together. We enjoyed getting to know them better and hearing about their July wedding plans which we can't wait to be a part of. We spent part of their Engagement Session in Christopher Columbus Park on the Boston Wharf (don't you just love the arbor way?) and finished off in the North End where they had their first date, by Pizzeria Regina in fact. We just *had* to end the session by grabbing a slice with them. How could we not? It was then that we got to talk even more about their wedding and life plans together. What a lovely pair they are!
