Sarah + Jon = Married

This wedding has a whole lot of love going on, doesn't it? Our new Midwest Associate Photographer Abby did such a great job capturing Sarah and Jon's sweet love. Stillwater, MN is one of our favorite quaint towns to day-trip, and Sarah and Jon's historic courthouse wedding emulates the spirit of this sleepy river town. These two share a special love. They are both kind-hearted, honest and grounded people who share a big love for baseball. We love their cheery, vintage decor that just beams with happiness. We were so honored to have had the opportunity to work with them and know they are going to live a truly meaningful life together. Congratulations Sarah and Jon!

Leah + Erik = Married

Leah and Erik are a dream team. Compassionate, thoughtful, talented and dare I say jolly (those of you who know Erik understand), we are smitten with this pair. We had the privilege of capturing their Sioux Falls, South Dakota wedding earlier in August and had a fantastic day. You really know that it's been a great wedding when you leave work grinning ear to ear. They got ready at Erik's family home surrounded by their friends and family. They had their first look and a few portraits together at the beautiful Terrace Park (where we could shoot all day long under the willow trees). After some additional portraits with their family and wedding party we headed downtown for their heartfelt ceremony that was filled with happy tears. The celebration continued with the sweetest bubble exit and ride on a horse drawn carriage (midwest style) and a great party at the new Hilton Garden Inn downtown. Leah and Erik, we wish you both years of happiness together! It's been a pleasure. Congratulations!

Hannah + Hunter = Married

Hannah and Hunter are so good together. Creative, genuine and hearts of gold - these two just work. We were honored to be a part of their lovely lovely wedding day in Sioux Falls, SD. After getting ready at home, they snuck away for a first look at Terrace Park downtown Sioux Falls. On the way there, Hannah was telling her personal attendant and me about how she was pretty sure Hunter was going to cry when he saw her because "he's so good like that." Sure enough, Hunter shed a few happy tears when he saw his radiant bride who was just bubbling with excitement that their wedding day had finally come. It was very sweet. They held their ceremony in South Dakota's largest cathedral, Saint Joeseph's where their nearest and dearest came out to witness their vows and first kiss as husband and wife. Afterward the celebration continued downtown Sioux Falls at the Museum of Visual Materials where their parents and friends toasted to their eternal happiness over some tasty BBQ. It was such a good day. Congrats you two!

Christina + Alex = Married

Is there anything better than a summer wedding at a historic mansion? We may be biased, but we'd say no. Christina and Alex were wed on a beautiful summer day in July and Chuck (and our fabulous second shooter, Katie) were there to capture all the action. Our favorite highlights from their wedding include photos on the house-boat that Alex's parents recently moved onto after selling their house (how cool is that?) and the surprise song Alex's sister sang during their first dance. We love when our couples personalize their weddings and this wedding was full of personality! The Linden Place in Bristol remains one of our favorite "little" mansions in Rhode Island and seeing it in action again for Christina and Alex's big day just reconfirmed our love for that beautiful house. Congratulations you two! We wish you all the best!

Kelly + Dylan = Married

This wedding makes us excited for so many reasons. First off all, did you see Kelly and Dylan? They both look like they just walked off the set of The Great Gatsby. Classy, timeless and (dare I say) sexy, these two are easy to photograph. Beside the fact that their wedding was filled with personal touches and styled elements that made our job easy, these two really are as good as it gets. Their hearts are big and open, ready to welcome life and whatever comes their way, together. Secondarily, we're over the moon to share this wedding because it's a testament to why life is such an exciting surprise. If you've been following our blog lately, you'll know that we've been training a new Midwest Associate Photographer, Abby, since the beginning of this year. Abby has been a quick learner, and Kelly and Dylan's wedding was her first solo wedding. When Kelly and Dylan reached out to us just a few short weeks before their wedding, we were already booked but Abby was available and let's just say it was all meant to be. As we tell all our clients, having Associate Shooters was never really in the business plan for us (nor was becoming wedding photographers, actually) but life has amazing ways of presenting opportunities to us when we least expect them and it's always for the best. I think you'll agree that it's good to have Abby on the team, and as far as Kelly and Dylan are concerned? We couldn't be happier to have had the opportunity of working together. Congratulations you two! We're over the moon for you.

It says a lot when we leave a wedding and feel like one of the guests. Laughing (let's face it, happy crying) and hugging as if we belonged right alongside their intimate list of honored guests. Apryl and Ashley are like that though. They draw people in with their genuine kindness and love. Apart they are both strong, beautiful, successful women. Together....well. Together they are even better. They celebrated their union at the most lovely B&B in North Minneapolis, The Le Blanc House where the skies parted from the rainstorm just in time for them to dry off the chairs and have their ceremony outside. Apryl was crying happy tears the entire ceremony and Ashley was grinning ear to ear. It was so happy. Afterward everyone slipped inside for toasts and a spontaneous dance party. The party continued down the street at the fabulous Red Stag Supper Club where their guests were treated to some of Minneapolis' finest grub. It was a beautiful and joyous day, and we were so happy to be a part of it! Congratulations you two! We wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

Deirdre + Casey = Married

Deirdre and Casey threw one of the most beautifully classic weddings we've had the privilege of photographing. From her stunning gown to their Commonwealth Avenue portraits and the decadently beautiful setting of Alden Castle, these two know how to celebrate in style. We might be biased, but we feel like Boston is the most beautiful city in the US, and there is pretty much nothing more romantic than a classic city wedding. Deirdre and Casey's love is steadfast and true, and we're smitten with the way they personified their connection into their soiree. Matt was there to capture all the action and it's safe to say that the rest of us (Kendra, Chuck and Abby) were pretty jealous for hitting the wedding client jackpot. Congratulations Deirdre and Casey! You both have been such a joy to work with. We wish you years of love, red wine and cheese. ;)

Amanda + Jaco = Married

As some of you may know, Matt and I were wed at the Codman Estate in 2011. Amanda and Jaco's Wedding was the first time we've returned to our favorite venue for one of our clients weddings, so there was already a heightened sense of emotion on our end when going into Amanda and Jaco's wedding. Naturally, we felt such affinity to Codman that we knew it would be a stellar backdrop for photos, but the space is so familiar to us that we weren't sure how we'd capture it in a new light. Just like every wedding, I arrived with an open heart ready to document the day as it set out. Thanks to the power of the internet, we had never met Amanda and Jaco in person until their wedding day, so I wasn't sure what to expect. You guys. There could not be two more beautiful, loving, genuine souls as Amanda and Jaco. Their warm spirits and charismatic personalities were the icing on a very pretty cake. Shooting this wedding was a dream for me. From the absolutely perfect weather and stunning scenery (I still loose my breath every time I'm in the Italian Garden at Codman)  to the jovial celebration surrounding their new chapter in life, this wedding was amazing. Amanda and Jaco, thank you for letting me capture your love. We could not be more smitten with you two! Congratulations !

TuVan + Peter = Married

Recently, we've had a pretty cool trend with our couples having been together for nearly ten years. There is such a great familiarity in these relationships that feels like each person is the calming force of the other's world. The comfortable, stable love and commitment these folks share is so sweet and tells us how great they will do in their marriage together. TuVan and Peter are a perfect example of this. TuVan is the type of girl who has a million things running through her mind and takes everyones feelings into consideration before speaking a calming word or making a well-thought-out decision. Peter is the kind of guy who makes you feel welcomed from the first hello with his magnetic, kind personality. Together they are a perfect match. TuVan and Peter shared not one, but two beautiful Vietnamese Tea Ceremonies on the morning of their Wedding Day that incorporated family and religious traditions such as generous gifting and delicious tea and food. After their families fed all their guests (and us!) with some seriously amazing food (two Vietnamese brunches before noon is a pretty awesome challenge if you ask us) TuVan and Peter changed into their stylish Western Wedding attire and gathered on the University of Minnesota campus (where they met!) with their wedding party for some fun photos between the rain storms. The celebration continued at a nearby Chinese banquet hall for more awesome food (a 10 course feast!), a hopping photobooth and some sweet dance moves. Special thanks to our Associate shooter Abby for third shooting with us on their wedding day and Congratulations to Tuvan and Peter!

Jillian + Pat = Married

Jillian and Pat's Newport Wedding (shot by Chuck!) is about as lovely as they come. There is nothing quite as nice as two college sweethearts who have grown into adults together and are taking the next chapter in life by storm. Newport always photographs beautifully, but we are especially smitten with Chuck's work with Jillian and Pat despite the gail force winds they contended with. We love that they had their ceremony on campus where they met at Salve Regina University and thought their stylish and bright pops of color accented the backdrop of the ocean quite nicely.  Jillian and Pat, the two of you have been so wonderful to work with. We couldn't be happier for you and wish you nothing but the best! Congratulations!

Morgan + Jordan = Married

I'm not sure if we've ever worked with a couple SO EXCITED to get married. Morgan and Jordan are so well suited for one another, and their love left us with a huge grin wiped across our face. With common loves for travel, adventure, God and the outdoors, these two are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Their Wedding day was filled with 300 of their closest friends and family, lots of great stories (and songs!) and a skies that had forecasted 100% chance of rain but not a drop touched their shoulders during their wedding. It was a pretty spectacular day. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to capture their wedding story (special thanks to our talented friend and second shooter, Ellie!) and wish the happy couple so many years of great adventures. Congratulations Morgan and Jordan!

Grace + Jeremiah = Married

Grace and Jeremiah were married on a rainy day in Mankato, Minnesota, but these photos wouldn't prove that. You see, Grace and Jeremiah have this infectious positive field around them. They are down to earth, fun-loving and happy people, so naturally, wherever they went on their wedding day, the rain stayed away. Case in point, before their ceremony it *poured* rain, but moments before the ceremony was to start, the clouds parted and the sun came out. Later on during their cocktail hour the skies filled with clouds and the rain started again. It really worked out perfectly. We loved shooting in the beautiful Sibley Park in Mankato and felt like their spunky reception details fit in perfectly with the warehouse space of the Pavilion located in the park. It's been such a joy working with you, Grace and Jeremiah, and we wish you so many years of happiness together. Special thanks to our new Associate Abby for coming along to shoot with us on their wedding! Congrats you two!

Megan + Jeff = Married

Megan and Jeff tied the knot a few weeks back in Megan's hometown of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their wedding was a perfect example of a traditional Wedding done oh so right. From the textually diverse venue, Icon, downtown Sioux Falls to the perfectly pink florals and classic navy bridesmaid dresses, there was so much goodness to capture. The cherry on the top of the sundae, however, was capturing the love Megan and Jeff have for one another. Their presence together feels like they belong to one another. Comfortable, relaxed and safe, they are not only good together but are also lovely individuals in their own right. We had fun visiting Kendra's homeland of South Dakota and brought along some local talent to help second shoot on their day (thanks, Dan!). Megan and Jeff, we are honored to have had the privilege of capturing your Wedding. Congratulations!

Hannah + Galen = Married

For those that know Hannah and Galen, we don't have to tell you how wonderful they are. For those that don't, if these photos of their wedding don't attest to the genuine thoughtfulness that went into the celebration of their union, I'm not sure what else would do it. It says a lot when two people enter their marriage barefoot. With a big breath and nervous grin, Hannah entered the space of their ceremony with her father at the same time that Galen and his dear Aunt walked in. Together, gathered with their nearest and dearest, barefoot and with open hearts to declare their commitment to one another, they became husband and wife. I love when couples have humble hearts of surrender as they embark on marriage. It's so real and intentional, and way more beautiful than any wedding flowers, dress or fancy cocktails. That, my friends, is why we do what we do. It's been such a pleasure accompanying you during this exciting time in your lives, Hannah and Galen. Thank you for allowing us into your festive, heartfelt day. Congratulations!

Kimberly + Marty = Married

Once upon a time there was a pretty girl named Kimberly who worked at a pizza joint. There was a charming boy named Marty who happened to love pizza and frequented this fine establishment, but unbeknownst to Kimberly, Marty was there for more than pizza. Marty's frequent visits to Family Pizzeria ended up not only gaining him some delicious slices of pizza, but a wife. Clearly their relationship moved beyond their sweet beginnings and into something more real and comfortable. Kimberly and Marty tied the knot on a lovely spring day in Western Mass late in May and started the next exciting chapter in their lives together. Their wedding day was filled with those that mattered most to them, along with some beautifully rustic accent pieces (cowboy boots? twinkle lights and a barn? check!) and a whole lot of laughter. We were thrilled to be there capturing their fun day and are loving the photo results. Special thanks to our talented second shooter Ashley for joining Summer Street for the day. Congratulations Kim and Marty! We are so happy for you both and wish you many more years of joy!
